Listening verses Talking
So often in our lives, well mainly mine, people see or should I say HEAR me. I’m not a shy guy, I’m loud and outgoing. I’m pretty well known by the small community that surrounds me, but I do try to keep my personal life to myself.
When it comes to other people’s business I hear people yap about one thing to another and I’ll listen… But for me to then pass this business on is not my place nor my business to pass on. I don’t mind it when people need an ear to listen - but I’m not one to start or better yet continue a rumor or info that doesn’t concern me. I think I’ve earned a lot of trust from many over the past years because of the habits I’ve gained throughout the past few years.
This fact however also constitutes to me gaining information I really don’t care to know, but shows me what type of people surround me. I really hate hearing negative things about people that are around me but it adds caution to the wind for my own protection.
I don’t really know what this rant is about besides the fact that learning when to listen and talk is different but I don’t really care either. Its my blog so whatever LOL
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from the classes I’m taking about education is: If you want your students to care and work hard, YOU have to care and work hard. I feel like I do care and work hard at everything I do, and I would hope I get the same in return from my friends, family and all that surround me.
